Case Studies

Talent doesn’t stand still, and neither do we. Read about the services we have supplied to our clients:

Altablue sourced our client a new General Manager within 2 weeks of taking the brief

Altablue was engaged to source a General Manager for a highly regarded developer following a failed search via two other recruitment agencies.

The client was under significant pressure to make a successful hire and our consultant was able to quickly provide a shortlist of potential candidates, all new to the client, within a few hours. Two candidates were selected for interview, and an offer made and accepted within two weeks of the initial brief being taken. The speed and quality of service was made possible by our team's experience and networks within the commercial construction sector.

However, it was also our consultant's ability to question and fully understand the company culture, the demands and challenges of the role and the opportunity it presented for the right candidate. Altablue is now the preferred partner to our client and continues to source the company exceptional senior talent.

140 skilled oil and gas trades were successfully identified, competency assessed ready for the client to on-board

Altablue has been providing contingent workforce solutions to clients in the oil and gas industry for 25 years.

Our understanding of our clients operations and often very specific requirements regarding their people, makes us a natural choice to support complex scopes of work and challenging projects.

Most recently, Altablue was engaged by a leading EPCM to recruit, mobilise and manage140 mechanical and electrical trades and supervisors for a major 6-week turnaround at a large and complex downstream facility.

Altablue was selected to support the project as a client-branded outsourced solution based on our proven capability supporting shutdowns in the Bass Strait over the last 25 years.

Our team undertook all sourcing and talent pooling activities, interviews and competency assessments, and supported the onsite HR team with mobilisation planning and on-boarding activities. Altablue will payroll and manage the team for the duration of the project.

Altablue was able to quickly implement a project RPO solution to a client with significant security requirements and complex processes, delivering all resources in the required timeframe

Altablue was awarded a project RPO in April 2015 to support a major defence aerospace client recruit and on-board a team of highly specialist SAP ERP information technology, communications and change management professionals.

Altablue engaged with the project leadership team to understand their requirements and develop a project plan that would ensure talent was sourced and hired in line with project implementation timelines. This included market mapping, multi-channel social media campaign, recruitment micro-site and direct approach strategy. The project required a rapid start-up and minimal disruption to BAU recruitment, so Altablue managed the campaign in our own recruitment management system, and provided detailed weekly reporting to the client.

Working on-site in partnership with the client team, Altablue was also responsible for mobilising a 3rd party system integration team in Melbourne and in offshore hubs.

This required skilled coordination of the client and subcontractor team to ensure that all individuals supporting the project had the required security and corporate approvals required to gain systems access and/or work onsite.

During the engagement, Altablue provided the client with a review of their existing recruitment systems and processes, making recommendations and improvements that, coupled with the successful fulfilment of all project target, led to Altablue being awarded further work with the client.

Altablue’s experience in technical recruitment allowed us to embed an experienced RPO within our client’s HR team, with significant impact on time-to-fill and quality of hire

Following a successful project RPO, Altablue was engaged by a defence aerospace client to provide ongoing on-site support to their Human Resources team under an RPO arrangement.

Due to complexities regarding security overlaid with a spike in recruitment demand, our client had a significant backlog of requisitions and impact to the business was reaching critical. Altablue mobilised a team of internal recruitment and on-boarding specialists, and embedded them within the client’s HR team, utilising the clients systems.

Our team quickly prioritised requirements, highlighted risk areas and developed a sourcing and recruitment plan that would reduce time to fill and deliver the required talent at the right time. Over the next four months Altablue managed to fill 45 vacancies reducing the time to fill from 69 days to 29 days.

Due to the successful delivery of the backlogged roles, Altbalue’s scope was increased to include responsibility for delivery of the clients Graduate and Intern recruitment campaigns. Working with the functional leads Altablue provided a new and innovative approach to the sourcing and selection of the client’s future talent. Altablue developed new group assessments as well as introducing the use of online video interviews to help increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the national search for talent.

By building on our relationships and ensuring we provide a flexible and effective service we are committed to continue this success into 2016 and beyond.

Altablue has unrivalled networks and experience in upstream oil and gas

Altablue was recently engaged to conduct a search assignment to secure an experienced Offshore Installation Manager for a major international oil company. Altablue has a demonstrated track-record in the oil and gas industry, including partnerships with operators that span over 20 years.

Our candidate networks and understanding of the client’s complex operating environment and need for high quality, safety conscious professionals, meant that we were able to quickly source suitable and available candidates and successfully communicate the opportunity to them.

Within 10 days of taking the initial brief, Altablue had coordinated an interstate interview and selection process, secured the preferred candidate and mobilised that person offshore, including managing all travel management, pre-employment medicals and checks, and the design of an ongoing training plan.
